Which parents do you think are the most interested in their children's education? On parent-teacher nights we saw only the parents of the "good" kids.
Pre-school for 3 year olds will have far less impact on a child's educational outcomes than what is provided by their parents. By end of secondary school, how will their attendance at age 3 in an additional year of pre-school be discernible? The only things on display will be the environmental impact of the family and the genesis they inherited from each of their parents.
Play School was established so young mums could meet other local young mums, and considered to be the major aim for our play school. We are all volunteers and this school has been in existence for over 25 years so we must be doing something right. The activities provided are at the initiative of the women volunteers. Mums always in attendance.
