John - at 44 and trading since you were born, I can assure you that options are every bit of risk they are intended to be.
I also hold KEYO and have traded many many times, but even options that are in the money can cost a small fortune if you get it wrong - case in point RRSO.
As to how many each person ownd, it's a bit like saying "how much have you got in your wallet". It's so good as I get older to be able to finally say - "non of your business"... but I love your enthusiasm and welcome you to this incredible fraternity of market trading.
One tip though - learn to diversify (NEVER fall in love with a stock - trust me on this and remember it clearly. One day I GUARANTEE you will forget this comment)
