Let them be kids, I say. Let them play. They are 3 only for one year of their lives, afterall.
And if parents are willing and able to do that, fine.
As far as I recall the earlier years of pre-school aren't compulsory.
Parents have a choice although kids are required to attend prep/kindy in the previous year to Primary school.
The young next door neighbours recently had their first child.
Mum took a year off from her career and is now back at work.
Their one year old is in child care and looked after by their Granny one day a week.
That's reality for many working families these days.
Mum can pursue a career as society doesn't frown on it like it used to.
As an aside there are numerous child care centres popping up around the railway station a couple of suburbs over. I'm wondering if they are being overbuilt and getting to glut stage.
