The short sell list from ASX only shows 0.29% and the number of short sold shares at 1,929,107. This is well under the volume of a single day of trading. I don't think short cover would impact much. If this baby is up 10%, I am very happy to exit.

The risk is quite high. I don't think the Malaysian government would even think about trying to shut it down as it brings money into the country and the local community. However, politicians will continue to milk its radioactive waste issue and the review would probably recommend Lynas to table a permanent waste disposal plan which will be expensive to implement. They will argue that it would be more sensible and cheaper for Lynas to ship the waste back and bury it in Australian desert. This will be objected by the Australian government. It will be an issue that will hang around probably forever as long as this company is still doing business in Malaysia. Lynas should start thinking about setting in Australia in the long term future.
