1. The Jews hadn't lived in what is now Israel for at least 1000 years, more likely 2000 - just check what happened in Australia to the original inhabitants who had lived here for over 30 000 years?
2. The Israelis are a clever and hardworking people, but they had and still have a lot of financial help from the West (including Germany - still!) to 'make the desert bloom' while the rest of the world bombs and plunders Arab lands. The history of the expulsion of the then 1000-year settlers of Palestine, the homeland for the Palestinians, does not make pretty reading either. But that's the way of the world - rose-tinted glasses help no-one.
Just tell me, why then, did the U.S.A. get themselves involved in the Middle East? They were friendly with the Bin Laden family via the oil interests - Osama was simply the outcast of that family and saw himself as an almost religious 'saviour' for the Arab people - it was him they hunted or used as a pretext to get involved this unholy mess, but they kept friendly with the Saudis - another guess, why? - Trump's participation in a sword dance with the mob (and sale of multi-million dollars worth of weapons) hasn't convinced me either, that the U.S.A. is giving up on that friendship any time soon.
