I'll word my question a little differently, although in truth we will all find out soon enough.

I understand what Plug and Abandon means, it is quite self-explanatory.

My question is, is this normal for an exploration well, ie after you have explored and discovered what you need to , do you then plug and abandon this well and drill a new one (or multiple ones) for production?

Second question, is if this is a genuine duster, why have they decided this, even though they haven't reached their target depth yet? Would it be because they have found a chamber which should contain gas but actually contains only air?
