I didnt intend to generate more anger by seeking some clarification on the course of events and players during the negotiations for Stella.
Australian entrepeneurs are vulnerable because they have to raise funds from abroad and, if anything ,the links I posted about Citigroups sitiuation show how our companies are exposed to global credit forces. It seems to be every man/co for himself in a race to survive.
The last link about CVC Capital does show that they have raised funds of $4b to be invested in Asia, including Australia. At least that is positive but as shareholders we have allowed a sell down and present a very fearful and angry force at present.
I would expect that many of us have profited in the past in the stockmarket, via realestate etc and must expect to share in these down times too.
Without finding blame I am interested in the inter-personal play that leads to the growth of this large business and what factors might prevent another implosion.
We have had Bond Skase and others ..so how do Australian Cos take their vision and energy and yet not loose all that to outside interests, in the long run.
My point is ...are we destined to have this bust stage because we are a small player with limited funds.
Is the rule of "Cash is King", going to always defeat Australian Companies that are built on others cash.
The super funds of the PIF should have been the most valuable foundation and they are the most deserving of protection, if not now, in the future, by law.
I dont just want to blame a few publisised directors, I want to know the truth about this process and using the net we can learn more than just the simple story put in a newspaper.
Is it a culture of greed or is there much more to our business processes that need attention?
