We don't have bail out laws to worry about but bail ins which is different to the bail out laws that banks got.

The legislation allows our banking regulator APRA ‘crisis powers’ to secretly step in and run distressed banks. It allows APRA to then confiscate and write off certain types of bonds and hybrid securities and allows them to confiscate cash savings of SMSF’s

You know, ASIC blocked shorting during the GFC 2008 but

We might have Invasion/War/famine/disease that could breakout and people who are married to their jobs could not have a job tomorrow.

If govt has a forward plan to save the stock market, short sell must be banned to prevent market crash. Short sell was a cause of all market crashes. In the time of global problems and conflicts, short sell must be banned as a precaution.
