Does her resignation change the environmental concerns? They actually look pretty valid:

"We have a duty of care to regulate the industry in the national interest and for the safety and well-being of our people, especially when radioactive materials are present," she said.
Fuziah said according to the International Atomic Energy Agency, one of the waste streams produced by Lynas was classified as non-exempt naturally occurring radioactive materials waste which needed to be regulated and safely managed.
"This stream of waste known as WLP is produced from the water leached purification process.
"Its activity concentration 6.2Bq/g is higher than the 1Bq/g exemption threshold, and it contains radioactive uranium and thorium, heavy metals and chemicals and rare earth.
"If Lynas can afford to pay the CEO over A$1.2mil (RM3.55mil) in cash salary a year, surely it can do better in managing its waste in accordance with basic international radiation safety standard, instead of taking advantage of Malaysia's weaknesses under the previous government by attempting to disguise its hazards through playing around with concentrations," she said.

Serious matters for both countries to consider.
