Agree with your comments re Radon - health effects are often underestimated.
Re; Granites in Darling Range. I have analysed many samples of Bassendean Sand from Perth eastern suburbs. Using GCMS always find low levels of radionuclides such as Thorium. Dont find these in western suburbs built on beach sand. Have always assumed that these were washed down from decomposing granites in Darling Range.
