Hello All

Pouring rain here for the first time in about a billion years, so without much to do I tossed a coin 50 times, assigning heads to Samo success and tails to failure.

Not good - failure won 26-24.

Suitably downcast, I turned my hand to a Samo playlist.

We are, of course, at The Beginning of A Great Adventure (Lou Reed) and hoping for All The Best (John Prine) as we are convinced Another Is Waiting (The Avett Brothers). The seismic has spoken but Actions Speak Louder (Bruce Cockburn), so here we are stuck Somewhere In Time (Dave Alvin), with a Big Rig (Jimmy Buffett) en route to The Gambia, wondering How's It Gonna End (Tom Waits). Will Samo be an SNE 2.0 - an oily case of Back To Black (Amie Winehouse) if you like - or will it turn out to be Dusty (Fred Eaglesmith)? Does our Winning Streak (Glen Hansard) continue, or do we hold a Losing Hand (Eric Clapton)?

Be That As It May (Willie Nelson), It's Too Late (Derek & The Dominoes) to Start All Over Again (J. Geils Band) - we're Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of (U2), impatiently Pacing The Cage (Bruce Cockburn). Nothing Is The News (Damien Jurado) and we feel like we're Walking Through A Wasted Land (Richard Thompson). All we can do is offer up a Prayer (Ray Wylie Hubbard), Make Believe (Kenny Rankin) It Don't Matter Anymore (Mickey Newbury) and trust the seismic turns out to be The Right Stuff (Bap Kennedy). It's Best To Believe (Joe Henry) it will deliver our Big Booty (Willie Nelson).

I'm confident. After all we have Big Time Operators (Van Morrison) Checkin' It Out (Van again). Hopefully It's A Beautiful Thing (The Handsome Family). If so, let's meet in Margaritaville (Jimmy Buffett) for our Party At The End Of The Word (Buffett). Hallejulah (Leonard Cohen) to that.
