Ann: Altech - HPA Market Update Lithium-ion Battery Sector, page-50

Attended the Brisbane Resources Round-Up yesterday where Shane Volk presented for 20 minutes on behalf of the company. Some notes and points taken directly from his speech here:

• HPA price is holding firm at $40 per kg ($40,000 per tonne)
• At current prices the NPV is $1bn with $133m free cashflow forecast, a rapid payback period and 75% gross margin
• There is NO substitue for HPA in LED's
• Under 1bn LED's were made per year worldwide last year, this is forecast to grow to 8bn per year in the coming years
• HPA growth in the battery seperator market is being driven by the significantly higher operating temperature that the HPA coating enables
• Plant design & output estimates are modest and we think 6,000 tonne per year will be more likely for production
• We are looking to finalise finace at the moment
• SMS are not only a large holder on the current share register but have committed a further $11m in equity upon finance close
• We are also actively talking to a couple of groups at present about taking a direct interest in the project (JV)
• Our prcocess was patented this week, which means that anyone else looking to do this will have to have a slightly more varied or innovatove approach
• Johor site has been cleared and piling is commencing

Given the selling pressure and share price capitulation the past fortnight I wanted to get along to this and see for myself if there was any chinks in the armour of the presentation. In a display that was quite the contrary Shane was cool, calm, collected and very matter of fact in everything he said. 

Anyone who saw @sir_kriso chart update in the chart thread will note the major support at 11.5c and well done to anyone who topped up there.

I managaed to dip a toe at 11.75c bringing my average entry to 14c now.
