thanks everyone, here is the reply i got back from IG Markets:

....Thank you for your email. I wish to inform you that the chart only shows a midpoint of bid/offer, stops and limits are filled basis bid price for a sell or offer price for a buy, so when you account for the spread your order was triggered and filled accordingly.....

I still feel ripped off somehow and am begining to think that they do chase stops. i have been stopped out numerous times because of one or two points only to see the price reverse, but never this close. bummer
