Zhang Weiqing, minister in charge of the National Population and Family Planning Commission, stressed that China will keep its family planning policy in place to maintain a low birth level.

IMO IO will peak in price (not demand) in 2009, stabilise for 2 years and fall steadily (maybe quicker) after that. ------------------------------------------------------------ MikeMennell, i don't know about the contract prices that FMG will be receiving, however i can asuure you that BHP - RIO will command top dollar for future I/O contracts. Otherwise, its onto the Spot price market they will go.
If Tollhurst believes that prices will taper of, then they obviously didn't read Chip Goodyear's thesis a few years ago when he was CEO of BHP in regard to the Commodities Supercycle and the changing demographics according to Supply and Demand.
I have no concern in regard to FMG's shareprice as i am not a holder.
However, in regards to what is happening on a global scale I/O has along way to go imo.
