    I don't think you understand how a clinical trial works. You have to show your new drug is not toxic. The in vitro data shows that BIT225 is quite toxic and so far no data has been published that says it is not also toxic in vivo even at the 200mg dose. You can't just go to the FDA and ask them to approve your drug for sale until you can show that it is safe and effective. BIT is a long way from demonstrating this.

    The side effects published in the last clinical trial would be worrying for me if I was running the BIT225 clinical program, but this is just my opinion.

    I think a lot of the argument here is over the perception of how far along the clinical development process BIT is with BIT225. Those highly positive about BIT seem to think that most of the hard scientific questions have been answered with the latest results, while those of us more sceptical think there is still a long, long way to go with many fundamental questions unanswered.
