Shifting NG eligibility to new housing stock only is a good policy to address a structural problem within the economy. I dont care which party implements it.
I understand why those invested in old housing stock as a source of asset appreciation would want to restrict supply, and would be opposed to such a policy. Self interest is a strong motivator.
