Mack67 - that is unfair. People should be encouraged look sceptically at what is been told them. As far as do a phd before you can comment is academic snobbery, if you have to relies on "pulling out the qualifications" then im always a bit sus on the content. I do agree that the number of people saying the current situation is a natural one seems comparatively small, (acually our last Met service head was not conviced, (NZ)) the idea that it shouldn't be challenged is academically , more specifically scientifically bankrupt. BTW you can access most journals online, googling is probably the best way that has ever been to research a topic. (So long as you keep your baloney detector on)
