To my mind ,the U.N , about as useful as a limp lettuce , is responsible for so much damage in the world.Saddam wasn't the only thug killing his own , there are so many around today .Where are the calls from the U.N. for military action , not merely observer status ?
Remember Bosnia.....night after night watching snipers take out women old folks even kids in the cities ,with the blue helmets standing next to the snipers taking 'notes'. Was it islamic countries coming to the rescue of their muslim 'brothers'? The U.N. whose courage extended to 'urgent meetings '? NAH, the U.S. and U.K. stopped the killings.FACT.Credit where credit is due.
Re iraq....if us. and u.k etc had said , enough of this dictator killing his own ,then burma next ,then ... lets get rid of him , then i would have been 100% behind them.But thats daydreaming. the lies re wmd have done untold damage to u.s. and u.k. credibility. oh yes and when the u.s. first reached bagdad , i don't think that jubilation from the locals was scripted.
to turn any of this into a for/against for our troops there is a mindless redherring .....of course they don't make the rules and should be supported 100%.Thats not the issue and strange to turn it into it.
