I welcome the fight with Labor over franking credits because it shows the double standards Labor thinks it can get away with treating SMSF differently to Industry (a source of Labor donations) and retail funds,it is estimated that there are around 1 million SMSF add the that members and the children of members and if they all voted against Labor it may swing the election or at least make it very close. When you are not affected it is easy to dismiss others concerns after they spent money organizing their financial affairs only to have the government rip thousands out of you pocket and completely upset your retirement plans when you are at your most vulnerable when you have retired many of these people are not on big super pensions, grandfathering the existing fund members would be a start I have no doubt as the election nears and if the margin between the parties gets closer Shorten will change the policy like they say what ever it takes.
