eMark I don't believe the US will go into a recession and if it does it will be short and shallow. Some people were talking depression. Rubbish IMO.

The US economy is more sophisticated, broader and deeper than it has ever been. It's still four times bigger than China and India combined i.e. per capita 20 times more productive.

You can't be sure what the banks will do though. For example it's possible that the banks will grant an extension for only six weeks. In that case the US debt will reset and fall due in six weeks also.

The SP could float around 50c for the next year in which case you could miss out on other bargains going atm.

Who really knows?
