Yes countries that are capable of getting involveed in stopping conflicts should get involved, the trouble is most ot the time these countries only get invloved when their is something in it for them
the US is one of the worst at this.
Like the reason they supported Iraq during the Iran Iraq war. they got invloved rightly or wrongly because Iran's fundamentalism was seen as a threat to oil supplies.
The US SUPPORTED IRAQ, who were the US's friend compared to Iran that was seen as an eveil threat
this was probably the right thing to do at the time
The Us then had no intention of becoming involved in the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq becasue there was nothing in it for them and it posed no threat to them. That is until the Saudi's got upset.
So how can with any logic and without looking like a complete hyporcite can the Iran Iraq war when the US support Iraq and the invasion of Kuwait when the US had no intention of becoming involved be used as justification for invading Iraq
Becomes even more foolish whne GW2 was 10 years after the invasion of Kuwait, 15 years after the Iran Iraq war and when sanctions against Iraq over the previous 10 years ment they were not a real threat to anyone.
