The Taliban in Afghanistan supported and accommodated terror groups such as Al Qaeda. Afghanistan was used as a central terror training base for these groups to bring terror to foreign shores.

Most, if not all of the SEPT 11 hijackers trained in Afghanistan.

After the Sept 11 Afghanistan was invaded by Nato, UN-mandated forces to seek justice and annihilate any future threat. Is anyone on this thread seriously saying no force should have been taken against the Taliban after Sept 11??

Iraq, under the BS war on terror banner became the focus of attention and the Taliban has strengthened since. Its the likes of Howard, Blair and Bush who are to blame for the situation getting out of control in Afghanistan for misdirection of resources.
