JB Hi Fi chief wards off scepticism

JB Hi-Fi's CEO Richard Uechtritz has reassured investors that the company is resillient against a downturn in consumer spending, reports the Australian Financial Review.
While Uechtritz conceded there were several economic challenges at play, he said JB Hi-Fi's store network was in good shape.
Analysts forecasts of the retailers results were varied, with Credit Suisse predicting a 7% fall in net profit after tax to $72 million for FY2009, and CommSec predicting JB Hi Fi to trade "reasonably well" during calender 2008.
