I suspect the tesla's, nissans and toyotas are stupid in shaping markets. Whats the easiest way to ensure that you've got enough supply to support your new market of electric cars, easy tell everyone about 2 years out that there isn't enough supply and let wall street scramble to fund mining operations with the promise of a quick buck. Has anyone notice the disconnect in the "fear of not enough lithium" and the Tesla share price..... if the most important aspect of a product was rare and expensive you'd think that would be cause for concern and be reflected in the forward projects of tesla's SP... not to mention toyota, nissan and VW also hesitating to invest to heavily in the sector. Alas, the truth is simple... there will be plenty of lithium because the cake is being overcooked as we speak and only those in production in the next 5 years will reap the rewards....
