    Lucia received mining entrepreneurs from lithium projects

    Governor Lucía Corpacci received representatives from two mining companies with lithium projects in the Puna Catamarca, who presented progress and an investment plan.

    It is the Australian Galaxy and the South Korean POSCO, which recently acquired the first part of the lithium venture located in Antofagasta de la Sierra, on the border with Salta, for about 280 million dollars.

    On this occasion, they met with the Governor -who was accompanied by finance ministers, Sebastián Veliz and Public Works, Rubén Dusso; the Secretary of State for Mining, Rodolfo Micone; the undersecretary of the area, María Inés Ulla and the director of Mining Social Promotion, Ana Ulla- the CEO of Galaxy, Anthony Tse and the president of the company in Argentina, David Guerrero; by POSCO, attended by the legal representative of Argentina, Kihyo Jin; the CEO, Kwangbok Kim and the geologist of the lithium division, Jaekyun Yeon.

    On the other hand, on behalf of the Banco de la Nación, the zonal manager María Nur Abraham took part in the meeting, with whom the possibility of investment operations being carried out through said banking entity, which in turn could finance the development of service providers.

    In turn, the entrepreneurs reported that Galaxy is moving forward with field activities and other related activities for the Sal de Vida lithium project, which is close to the production stage, while POSCO presented its new CEO and communicated the steps to continue with the properties acquired in the region.

    Likewise, the Government of Catamarca insisted on a comprehensive plan that includes local development and especially the surrounding communities, the generation of labor and local service providers.

    "Galaxy is already working with the Sal de Vida project, the investment is quite advanced and in that sense, we have been working with all the companies based in the province to deepen local development. They have understood and we have been working hard on that issue, "said the Secretary of Mining.
