Good to see Arthur Upfield getting a guernsy here. I have long felt that his contribution to Australian literature is at least that as worthy as Patrick White and a far more pleasant read. Beautiful descriptions of outback Australia and a unique insight into attitudes to our indigenous at the time the books were written
As is often the case, our writers are better appreciated overseas. Just look at the complete listing of Upfields books on Amazon. He is more appreciated in the US market than here...go figure....
