I didnt realise it was stated quite so clearly in the chairmans update that we are certainly no longer interested in the type of "relatively small" collaborations we signed previously.
The fact we have changed to current targets coupled with Hottods post stating company said "Phylogica has a near-term opportunity to improve the commercial attractiveness of our platform by showing that we can deliver a cargo class of interest into a target cell of interest more efficiently than the relevant competitive technology."
Would certainly indicate PYC are hoping for a significant deal well in excess of previous up fronts?

to negotiating relatively small co-development deals. For while these offered the
prospect of near-term cash funding, usually they did not offer development of the
company’s science in the key areas of focus. At this stage the priority for the team is
the development of our science."
"We are not interested in small deals", yet "we have a near term opportunity to improve the commercial attractiveness of our platform" certainly sounds like we are not just hoping, we do have genuine interest.
