if you are right in your assumption that this structure is flatter than expected because of an incorrect velocity model, won't that most likely impact the other, similar structures also? But why should the velocity model be that different from SNE (note that I am not a geophysicist, so there may be a perfectly good explanation for that)?

Either way, it will be interesting to hear what the outcome of the post-mortem will be, and what Petronas decides to do, and whether they stay onboard for a subsequent well.

Agree that they would have been fools not to drill it, but there is obviously no assurance that there is oil on the license.
