has anyone considered the fact that this guy may be very well connected to large investors in the UK market and that his primary role may be to raise the profile of the Co to new investors internationally ?

All this witty sarcasm is very amusing, but seriously instead of just reacting stop and have a think about it. He is not there to add technical O & G skills he is there to add proffessional executive management skills.
This will help free up GT's time to allow him to better promote the Co as well as potentially introduce the Co to a completely new set of investors
