There was a fairly negative AFR article about vocus and Telstra today not passing on the discount 50mbps plans to NBN re-sellers. Apparently due to legacy issues. TPG and Optus have done this.
This has me a bit worried from an anti-competitive angle - and about that whole vertical integration model, the big telcos with retail have a conflict of interest in also being wholesale by selling to their retail competitors. Is my understanding of the background right?
I suppose the biggest culprit and monopoly has to be NBN, but they’re the government so they’ll not get in trouble.. is the blame going to shift to the wholesalers?
