On balance of probability if we can't and don't trust them now, what makes them any more trustworthy in your alternative scenario?
As far as unnecessarily complicating the negotiations currently underway with X and BBV working on our behalf, I would be very, very careful about airing such distractions knowing how desparate R is in their latest letter to us on behalf of Zijin.
In the lastest ploy to unsettle this tight-knit minority group, the Chinese masters of NKP /R are putting it about that BidCo might even walk away from amalgamation.
When in reality EVERYONE knows they are ready to develop the S.A. platinum reserves into a commercial mine. Thats the reason for amalgamation and offering to buy us out
If they were to also air a view to an offer to some of us to participate in the new venture (S.African listed) IPO, imagine potential for a split and infighting breaking out in our group!
Judging by the several 'thumbs down' to your idea already, (no disrespect to you yourself Mac), I really question whether at this point it isn't a tad undisciplined to be countenancing alternatives publically.
Let's CONCENTRATE our efforts and resources, funded by each of our own hard earned.

PS: Nothing to stop one participating in the IPO in S.A. - following a favorable resolution to the current situation....but for me it's one step at a time, without distraction.
