Yep, they can't possibly test something when they don't exist yet. Hence they would need to test them once they are in orbit. The crux is that technically they have the potential to fail or/and be commercially unviable. All I am saying is that the potential scenario is something to add to the already long list of very real potential risks. The reason I even mentioned such scenario as a risk is bevause of the fact that people keep saying that the tech is proven, derisked, etc when reality is far from it.
I think people need to remind themselves that SAS have made announcements before with regard to agreements with sat-space africa and beeptool, revenue for the 3Ds, ramping up of said revenue in 2nd half of 2018 among other things...none of them are realized so far, which no doubt gave insight to how untrustworthy and tenuous, claims and estimates really are.
In my view this agreement with global sat is similar to those agreements. From what I understood of the announcement, Global Sat is not bound to do anything for SAS. I mean they may have the non-exclusive right to distribute, sell, market and promote but that does not mean that they would have to do it. They are not obligated to do anything at all let alone pay. So personally I think the global sat agreement is mighty silly. I don't know why SAS would think it is a good idea to sign so many agreements so flippantly like that. From history, however, every "commercial" agreement is usually followed by a CR not too long after.
What I am expecting to happen is a CR very soon in December or January latest. I think they could either get the 72-80 million+ they need to launch 80 or so satellites, 4 launches, 20 pearls per quarter, in 2019 or they go totally bankrupt and become a shell company like BUR before them. Once the pearls are launched, though, the stake becomes much higher because then commercial viability becomes determinable. There would be no excuse left so to speak.
