Guess what Facty, there really, really, are, ..only.. two guarantees in this life, and success with your own 'punting' on the share market most certainly ..isn't one of them.. which I personally as a victim/survivor of "the cremation of GXY1 investors" as you so poetically chose to phrase it, can attest to.
The reason however, that both Subs and I are doing so well with our GXY-2 investments is NOT, "because someone else has lost" at all, but simply because both of us are LONG-TERM 'value investors' who have both simply had the nouse to buy back into the new GXY-2 Phoenix, at very-low-prices, as it rose again from the ashes of GXY-1's funeral pyre, and neither of us, has ever 'held a gun at anyone else's head' here on HC and 'forced them' to sell their own GXY shares at a loss, in fact quite the opposite, we both like to regularly bore Trader-Types, by counseling whoever here on HC actually 'has the ears to listen' to do quite the opposite, and to instead, "Hold 'em, Don't Fold 'em".
And as for "the company has conributed $0" well, I guess I must have just simply been dreaming every single time I keep reading about all of those multi-million dollar shiploads of Spod that are regularly and continually sailing off out of Esperance port, just like a virtual ocean-going conveyor-belt, bound for all of our clamoring foreign buyers, ..hey..??
I wonder if "the company contributing $0" as you suggest, had anything to do with just why we saw the GXY SP rise very steadily to $4.50 per share back in January of this year, right before the Wall St parasites descended upon us like a filthy plague of blood-sucking flies ..hey..??
As for your, 'cycles repeating' well, that's simply the risk that each and every one of us accepts when we ..choose.. to stick our own dough into the share-market, and that's why the Oracle of Omaha also warns us "If you are not willing to own a stock for 10 years, do not even think about owning it for 10 minutes".
