Well written post but just one point If you want to own your own 'home' the 'great' time to buy, imo, has past
It has passed if you expect to roll it over for an investment profit, but if you want a home to live in and you are not highly geared then now is still a good time, you have to do the sums of renting with its restrictions and costs, against being settled in your own home, but look long term not short term
Investors just put buying on hold for at least 12 months.
