Poster awards normally mean not much about the science. I have received them myself in the past for lesser quality work and missed out on much more important work.
You really need to know the criteria for award and how many are given out. Looking at the conference twitter profile their is nothing mentioned about the poster award winners, but there is about the other award winners.

Looks like a very intimate conference. I count 53 people in attendance from their photo in the twitter feed. It certainly isn't one of the big circus conferences where you can get upwards of 30,000 people.
