I reckon you're right, Ros. Just think about it, the US economy is 70% driven by its own domestic consumer (discretionary) spending and after their homes, what's the second largest (discretionary) expenditure that's usually made by Mr & Mrs US Joe Public...? uzzled: Hint... It, {used to be made} in Detroit, and rhymes with, ...'Gas-Guzzzzlers'...!

Now imagine the effect upon the (largely) US (Gas-Guzzzzler driven) economy of an ever accelerating rate of 'disruption' caused the 'global' roll out of EV's, and, by the 'refusal' of the ROW to ..continue.. buying, what Detroit's ..still.. making...??

IMHO, America has been absolutely, caught out, totally 'flat-footed' by China, in this new race, to 'own' the EV disruption story, with China having already easily made a decade of rapid progress down their own 'new-silk-road' and now, the Yanks (except for Elon Musk) are simply all standing there on the side of the road in the dust clouds left behind by China, looking at each other and saying, ...WTF... just happened..!!

Now, just about every time you turn on the TV or open a newspaper these days you're likely to see a story about the latest climate disaster, somewhere in the world, and right now, people right across the globe are voting with their feet, their voices and their wallets, for 'change' and any politicians who still aren't listening to their message, are IMHO, likely to find themselves out of office, and standing in the dole queues, themselves, after their own next elections are held.

As I said before China has outflanked the good old USA again. Look at Chevron, Ford and GM, all asleep at the wheel again!

It’s only Tesla and good old California showing some insight at the moment.

Don’t forget old third world India, once their game plan kicks in you will see the second largest population in the world embracing the electro transformation.

If they can get it! What’s holding the rest of the world back? (Norway excempt)

Within two years anthems will have changed, people will realise and will have been educated about the bright future beyond ICEs.
