Lithium has very rapid response , fraction of a second, so Hornsdale can grab a market price spike quicker than the fastest Gas fired plant. They'll make a fortune  out of that battery.

Flow batteries can't beat that, but could be included as part of a longer cycle to cover fluctuating wind and solar.

My conspiracy theory is that the Liberal Party is broke and the Coal Industry is a potential source of income. With Labor, you get powerful Unions dropping in money, with the Liberal Party you get Coal behind the scenes. Not good models. Trouble is the rest is a disorganised shambles.

Isn't it amazing how far renewables are reaching without a single sensible policy. Truth is that no Government can stop it. It's bolting. Get on it.
