I reckon that you're right about that Stevo.    The mass-media education of the 'great-unwashed' about the advantages of EV's is already well under way.

Just last night, I saw a 'special report' being done on the prime-time evening TV news about new lower priced EV's that are now arriving in the Aussie market and they were loudly singing their praises, about just how low their running costs were, because you don't have to go to the Servo and pay for fuel each and every week and they quoted as an example in their story a saving of $1500 per year on fuel but, that only works out to spending $28 a week.

Personally, I would have thought a more reasonable example would have been to use, say, $50 per week, as a saving on fuel costs, which equates to $2600 per year, or $13,000 over five years, and once ordinary people start to 'understand' those sorts of savings, and that's also before they even consider the much lower EV servicing costs and longer useful lifetime expectancy of EV's, well then, IMHO, I certainly wouldn't be standing in front of the crowd who will be wanting to buy an EV, or you'll most likely get trampled in the rush.

I might also add that the TV news EV story ran right hot on the heels of their previous news story about how all of the Servo's fuel prices have now immediately shot back up again to around $1.50 to $1.60 per litre, and it was done complete with Servo-driveway interviews with angry motorists, all speaking directly to the camera and venting their frustrations about "price-gouging" by the Oil companies, whilst they were all watching the $$$$ endlessly tick over on the bowsers as they were filling up their vehicle's tanks.

I certainly don't think that anyone, will actually need to be related to Einstein, to figure out just where this EV demand story, is ..rapidly.. heading.
