Huawei is back in the news again. Not only has its chief financial officer (and daughter of founder Ren Zhengfei) been arrested, the UK has just announced that it is going to rip out all Huawei's equipment from their 4G & 5G networks. (Recall we just told Huaiwei ourselves that we don't want any their equipment in our communications networks. Surely, the US couldn't have had something to do with that?)

If we assume this is all happening because Huawei continues to do business with Iran, then boycotting someone's equipment because you don't like who they trade with is one thing, but arresting and locking up the daughter of the founder brings this to a new level entirely.

The big question now is will China bow down to US demands, or will it retaliate with its own arrests and trade sanctions?
