I live on the south coast of NSW in a little town called Bega. Yesterday I went to do some work on a property, a brand new house with the owners only moving in the last few weeks or so. The owner proceeded to tell me that the property was not connected to the grid. Well, my eyes lit up. Covered in solar panels and equipped with two lithium batteries. They could store up to 40k/watts of power. An impressive system to look at.
We ran heavy machinery of their power supply most of the day with the owners daring us to "try and drain our batteries a little" with no luck. The system was creating more power than we, and the house were using. With the owners disappointed that their batteries remained at 100%.
I know that most of us have already researched this technology, seen what it is capable of and most of this is not new news. But to see this technology embraced in a small town, put a little smile on my face.
