Yeo is not a fool, she is Chinese, (like my beautiful and much loved wife) and I would be fairly sure that she discussed her proposed response with Dr M beforehand receiving tacit approval. That is why the Government have not responded in a timely manner to Yeo's demands. Toly can you imagine the problems LYC will face removing the LAMP? Every trace of tailings will need to be removed first, the site restored, and export of the LAMP will be delayed by red tape. It is not a good situation and I feel, like - I am sure - for many shareholders for Amanda's frustration at this turn of events. For every problem there is a solution and in the case of LYC I think that if Amanda were to announce an intention to set up a parallel processing plant in Japan and export of Mt Weld concentrate to China, the Malaysian problem would collapse. Lateral thinking is needed. Extremists are exactly that; beyond reason and facts. Hopefully in a higher presence will prevail. If LYC has to export tailings, then just take a bulk carrier and dump them in the Mariannas Trench. Low cost solution.
