Two of the samples totalling 20,116 tonnes confirmed that grade and stone size was
maintained to a depth of 9 metres into tuff. Individual sample grades ranged from 4.3
cpht near the Western Area of Pipe 9 to a high of 18.1 cpht on the north side of the
Central Area of Pipe 9.
The significance of the Ellendale 9 Eastern and Central Areas results cannot be
underestimated. High value ore has been identified in an area where previous exploration
had indicated that no ore existed. Effectively, this means that all 93 currently identified
pipes under the control of Kimberley or its subsidiary, Blina Diamonds, will have to be
thoroughly retested.
