Hi OscarA, A must watch video for those that believe that shorting is just a bet against a company’s fundamentals, a means to make quick money, and that if anyone speaks out about the blatant manipulation and collusion that goes on, in an attempt to move the markets up or down, then, they are labelled as being conspiracy theorists, or better still, that the shorters/manipulators’ knowledge of companies in the markets, are more superior to our own.
White collar crime at the highest levels, that the watchdog agencies either do not understand, or choose to turn a blind eye to, due to the huge amounts of money that can be generated from these activities each year.
Some people within organisations have been gaoled, and some institutions have been heavily fined for various other crimes, however, heavy fines and the threats of gaol time, don’t seem to be deterrents for very long, which permits these activities to persist and become worse.
Interesting that the shorting was ousted during the GFC, and the banks had the audacity to complain about it at the time.
I doubt that there would be enough gaol cells
in prisons around the world, to accomodate the staffs of Wall St hedge funds and their ilk. Bailed out by the peoples’ Governments at will.
And there clearly doesn’t seem to be anyone in power watching to see that the boundaries are not crossed into illegal territories, or aiming to ensure a level playing field for everyone.
It’s the manipulation coupled with the shorting that is very damaging, and unless companies have a great deal of inherent strength within them to withstand these big onslaughts, then, they can be sent to the wall, along with retail investor money.
I remember reading an article about the wealthy in Australia shunning the ASX, and fleeing to other exchanges.
It’s always important to have a good understanding of the dynamics in the market that we operate in, and have our strategies firmly in place, to ensure that we
can ultimately win against these buggers.
