Very well said 50ftcat............EXACTLY and ditto for me.
I believe anyone who strictly adheres to only the one form of analasis places themselves at a huge disadvantage.
I find that by using basic fundamental overview of a company and combining that with basic charting provides an invaluable insight upon which to base my decisions on.
Charts are extremely usefull in determining how the market feels about companies , measuring the emotions of the investors. There is so much useful info on a chart if one knows what to look for.
Anyone doubting the usefullness of charts might want to have a read of Stan Weinstein's "Secrets for profiting in bull and bear markets". Easy read & fairly basic. Certainly saved my bacon in aug & jan.
Personally I've had far more success with coy's chosen from charts.
