Since 1988 Victorian State School teachers beginning in the profession have not been able to access the Defined Benefit scheme.
So, take heart, HelloU, those who receive these pensions are now getting closer to their deaths and you can rejoice. Teachers are paid less than their counterparts in the business world and this was a way of ensuring they would not die through starvation or even need to access the Aged Pension. Some of us receive less in our teachers' Pension that the Aged Pension. Mine, for example, is only 75% of the Aged Pension, after 28 years of teaching.
Why are you so obsessed with toilet scrubbing? I have scrubbed many a toilet and have never received a single cent for doing so.
Those who get paid for doing this menial job should be grateful, imho.
