There is no Turnbull fan club, just some of us who didn't want to see Labor win the next election and Shorten become PM.
LNP had very much improved their polling from the beginning of last year and where only just behind in the poll, very much a position governments can get re-elected from. The LNP needed to stay united and focused on the job to show voters they were worthy of another term of government.
Didn't matter who was leader at the time, it was Turnbull but for the sake of the argument had the leader at the time been Abbott, Dutton or Morrison. The Leader of the Liberal's was well ahead as preferred PM and LNP were polling well enough to win the next election. As such there was no compelling reason to change leaders and as I said many a time before to change leader would be political suicide.
Forget that it was Turnbull who was leader, my analysis of what would happen if the liberal party changed leaders was spot on.
Mean while some hear who just hate Turnbull and wanted to see him gone got what they wished for but don't seem to be too happy with the consequences, no surprise there
