Reading the very helpful thread  - Its hard to know what exactly went on but speculating....

-FAR probably wanted to pre-empt but didnt have the funding / capacity so played a legal strategy of arguing they weren't given proper notice  - their motive is to get some value for shareholders - honorable intention from this perspective.

However they have not necessarily set themselves up for a good working relation ship with the likely future operator, WPL

Hopefully they dont spend too much money on the claim and it doesnt distract from them making sure they can pay when the cash calls hit the mailbox for development.
