So he was just playing a game when he fronted with 43 signatures that called for such spill.

The spill that Turnbull called (due to the backgrounding on the leadership) went to a vote
and Turnbull won against Dutton. Then didn't he say he was going to challenge
again soon after and Turnbull opted to go given the disloyalty and the petition with 43 signatures.
Dutton thought he had it in the bag but all theTurnbull supporters moved their vote to Morrison and Dutton
lost once again.
