    @Dave R,

    To quote your Christmas Day post to me (to wit: "Where are you madamswer ? I put up what you requested yesterday morning but no response from you." https://hotcopper.com.au/posts/36957523/single)),

    Where are you @Dave R? I put up what you requested [* see below] yesterday morning but no response from you.

    [*]

    Nope.
    Yet again, you're wrong, @Dave R.

    The correct figure is indeed 2.5m.

    This is according to the gold standard source I've used, namely the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) (a department of the Australian federal government) [*].

    [*] Specifically, the AIHW's September 2018 report, entitled "Older Australia at a Glance", sub-heading "Social and Economic Engagement"; sub-sub heading "Employment and Economic Participation", paragraph headed "Income, Assets and Wealth", which I have appended below for your ease of reference:

    PS. The AIHW references, in turn, are as follows:

    [7, 10] Department of Social Services
    [9, 11] Australian Bureau of Statistics

    As for your de facto exit clause of, "I don't think I will bother with you any more as you just makes things up to suit your purposes", that, I think, can easily be paraphrased with: "I need to get out of this argument because this guy keeps debating me by using of cold, hard facts which expose my pithy one-liners for being nothing more than that."

    Maybe if you added some factual veracity to your arguments, instead of simply filling your daily 20-posts per day quota - i.e., aiming for some substantive quality over mere quantity - you might have a chance of being taken seriously, instead of being viewed as somewhat of a bitter and angry person who vents his/her frustrations by bashing away on the computer keyboard the same bitter messages, twenty times a day; day in, day-out.

    And all in the vain attempt to influence a bunch of people who sit on the opposite radical end of the political spectrum as you.

    You could have learnt another language or red a great many great books in all the time you've spent here doing keyboard combat with people who are just as extreme as you and so will never see the world your way.

    In the beginning I thought it was amusing; now I think it's sad....

    "I know you right wingers hate me for being the messenger..."

    When you label someone - who has been very happy to vote for the Labor Party in the past - a right-winger, then that speaks volumes for the extent of your deluded thinking.
