    The two wind farms in Albany WA have the capacity to produce 80% of their power, that is a fair whack.


    Sure there are times they don't produce at full capacity and you need back up but even a coal fired power plant needs a back up.


    It's is true that power from an existing coal fired power plant is cheaper than wind power, $40 MWH vs $60 MWH but for a new build coal fired power plant the cost would be around $75 MWH.


    If a new build coal fired power plant was feasible the private sector would be right in there but they are not, existing power companies are also not interested and are moving to renewables
